Lifeboat14.com Case Study

Small group ministry is a huge part of the modern church and we know the Web has a part to play in it all. The key is approaching the problem from the bottom up. What kind of web application would appeal to the leaders and members of the actual groups? How can we make a tool for them to do their weekly small group “better”? By starting with something that they find useful and actually enjoy using we knew that we would be able to bubble up the kind of “heartbeat” information that small group coaches and pastors would find valuable in running the ministry.

Other planned features:
  • Tools to help people find the right small group for them based on location within the city (Google Map API) and the type of small group (using tags)
  • Tools for leaders to quickly create their own Bible study or edit/use one from a catalog of premade ones
  • etc, etc, etc

Unfortunately this project didn’t receive funding to continue beyond its current “Alpha” stage. But we still believe there is a huge opportunity here if done right and would love to work with someone who has a similar vision. Contact us if that is you!
